V & A Fete Summer Fete
2007
&made and Nadine Jarvis collaborated at this years V&A village fete by making human-sized bubbles and bamboo bubble wands.
A slow puff of breath into a hoop of pearlescent film. Stretching, growing, morphing, forming, larger still, a blown skin becomes a hollow sphere, leaving its stable frame and floating off into the air. Drifting, gliding, slowly moving… its colours like insect wings, blue, purple, GREEN, pink, are visible in the air-filled ball. Its transparency has a pearly lustre like an abalone shell, watch the colours shimmer.....read full article.

Echoing the philosophy of the Sausage, the pegs rely on a small wedge of plywood sat between the legs of the object. This section of timber deliberately swells in heavy, consiste.....read full article.

Quake Frame
2006
The Quake Frame is designed for earthquake zones, especially high rise or densly populated buildings. In the event of an earthquake the picture frame will naturally tilt to one side due to the tremors. We designed an intelligent switch, which senses the vibrations, and once swung from its upright position, will activate a bright light along its underside. The Frame is most effective in corridors where it acts like emergency lights on an aeroplane, guiding the casualties to there nearest exit. To turn the light off, simply use the spirit level, .....read full article.
