&made and Nadine Jarvis collaborated at this years V&A village fete by making human-sized bubbles and bamboo bubble wands.
A slow puff of breath into a hoop of pearlescent film. Stretching, growing, morphing, forming, larger still, a blown skin becomes a hollow sphere, leaving its stable frame and floating off into the air. Drifting, gliding, slowly moving… its colours like insect wings, blue, purple, GREEN, pink, are visible in the air-filled ball. Its transparency has a pearly lustre like an abalone shell, watch the colours shimmer and swirl. Just be aware of its fragile state, when you start to see the top turn black you have only a few seconds left… POP!
